Training and progress assesment sessions are held at the Community Centre for dogs receiving social and obedience training with families before going on to intensive training before placements. ‘FIZZ’ is on placement with a Quarry Bank family hoping to follow her brother ‘FINN’ into active service find out more information . . >
Leap is short for Leisure, Exercise and Activity for People over 50. The project encourages work with individuals, groups and organisations across the borough of Dudley to create more exercise/activity opportunities for all older people whatever their ability. Local lad Jake aged 10 and his Dad Steve hiked 7.5 miles from the base of Snowdon at Pen-y-Pass to the summit and back to raise funds to support the work of the Cardiac Dept. of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital – they have raised so far £795. Jakes Dad made an application to the DHL UK Foundation who have given £600 to push the total raised so far to £1395! original story . . . >
Bellydance hafla Dec 18th – was organized for all the local groups in the area to show each other what they’ve been working on.
The Midlands has some of the best teachers/performers in the UK. They danced alongside students and a wonderful evenings entertainment was had by all. Some of the money raised went to support the Bliss charity, which was being supported by this years Christmas bellydance cards. more pics . . . .>
Plans to enlarge and improve the Quarry Bank Community Centre were displayed at a Community Event on Sun 22nd January 2.00-4.00pm as part of a Chinese New Year Party celebration – all were invited, free admission, fun and games for the kids etc. also on Mon 23rd January 2.00-4.00 and 6.30- 8.30pm. more on this event . . . .>
The Library ‘coffee morning’ is held every Thursday at the Community Centre from 10.00am to midday – all are welcome just pop in for a cuppa and a chat – by having a small weekly collection the group have raised £632 during 2010 and £696 during 2011 for local charities. more . . . >

There is a waiting list for places, but some of our girls will soon move on to the new Brownie pack which will be starting soon.
Martin McLauchlan will be running the London Marathon on 22nd April 2012 in aid of the Charity Children with Cancer UK.
Martin and his wife Tonya have also decided to hold some fund raising events; their target is to raise £2,500 for the Charity, with the help of family and friends they raised an amazing £476.86 at a Children’s Christmas Party held at Quarry Bank Community Centre. read more . . . .>
The Bishop is very pleased to announce that his offer of the post of Vicar in the Brierley Hill Team Ministry has been accepted.
The new Vicar, with responsibility for the districts of St Michael’s Brierley Hill and St John’s Brockmoor, is to be the Revd Steven Martin. Steve brings to this post a wealth of experience.
Steve’s licensing service will be held Monday 16th April.
